Voice Bench SA is a new project creating consented South African speech and text evaluation data, starting with isiXhosa and the messy, human reality of WhatsApp voice notes, local names, accents, clicks, corrections, and review.

The story is simple: South African voices should be heard properly by AI systems, and the people helping build that evidence should be treated with consent, provenance, and a fair route back to value.
